One of the things we loved most about the property is how it is designed to bring people together and create connections away from technology. It was such a joy to see kids playing and having fun with each other and their parents without cell phones or iPads. You won’t find a single TV in any of the rooms at Tanque Verde Ranch, but with all of the activities available on property, you won’t even miss it.
Activities at Tanque Verde Ranch
Breakfast Ride: This leisurely horseback riding adventure presents the perfect opportunity to experience desert vegetation and wildlife up-close and personal. The Breakfast Ride will end at the Old Homestead to enjoy a hearty breakfast of ranch eggs, potatoes, bacon, our famous blueberry pancakes, and more! Following breakfast, riders will remount their horses and walk back to the corral with their corresponding wrangler. The views are spectacular, making it a fabulous way to start the day!
Sunset Ride: This is another leisurely horseback ride through the Sonoran desert, timed perfectly with the sunset so you can soak in the views of the beautiful Arizona sunset.
Cowboy Cookout: Head down to Cottonwood Grove for a down-home ranch BBQ experience. Fill your plate with the chef’s choices of grilled meats ranging from ribs or steaks, homemade cornbread, fresh fruit, and much more as you listen to live music. Take a seat fireside and join other guests as you take a moment to savor all the great food, authentic entertainment, good company and incredible scenery.
Kids Program: Tanque Verde Ranch offers a daily kids program full of fun and activities for ages 4-12. Upon arrival, kids join a group based on age- Buckaroos (4-6,) Wranglers (7-9,) Outlaws (10-12.) Riders will learn the basics through a variety of horse activities and will be advanced based on ability. During the day, kids will also participate in many more fun-filled activities such as Guided Fishing, Zorb balls, Arts and Crafts, and much more.
