Arizona Restaurant Week Fall 2018

Fall is coming! Which means Arizona Restaurant Week returns in late September with the regularity and anticipation of turning leaves (well, in some areas), Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and football.

This time around, Arizona Restaurant Week begins on the last day of Summer, September 21, and runs through September 30. During Arizona Restaurant Week, restaurants charge either $33 or $44 per person or occasionally, per couple. In some instances, a beverage may be included but tax and gratuity are not.

At Fabulous Arizona, we have our favorites that we always visit but we love using this opportunity to discover new restaurants or established places that we may have missed until now. Taking a little bit from all three categories, here are some of the restaurants we will be indulging in throughout this biannual celebration of the Arizona culinary scene.

Local Bistro ($33/person) – Local Bistro is one of the best spots in North Scottsdale for Happy Hour, but “ARW” brings the perfect opportunity to enjoy a more thorough dive into their menu. First course options include calamari fritti, polpettine over polenta, or beet salad. Entrees choices are truffle risotto, spaghetti allo scoglio, and bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. The two dessert selections are lemon panna cotta or chocolate boca negra cake.

PNPK ($33/couple includes beverage) – One of the best things about Restaurant Week is the opportunity for a newer restaurant to give extraordinary value to its community as an introduction. PNPK (named after Pinnacle Peak), on the corner of Scottsdale and Pinnacle Peak Roads, is giving diners an impressive amount of food, including a select appetizer to share, four of their craft sliders, and a dessert flight. They’re also including a beverage for each guest.

Selfmade at Hotel Adeline ($33/person includes beverage) – I rarely include restaurants I haven’t personally experienced when I recommend them for restaurant week – but every time I pass the new Hotel Adeline on Scottsdale Road, it just looks cool. What better way to get a taste of what they’re about than to visit their signature restaurant during Restaurant Week? Each course offers unique dishes rarely seen on ARW menus. The prix-fixe price includes a glass of draft beer, chardonnay or cabernet.

Stockyards Steakhouse ($44/person) – From one of the Valley’s newest restaurants to one of its oldest. Stockyards first opened in 1947 and has been added to the Phoenix Historical Register. Walking through the restaurant is a journey through decades of Phoenix history. Their entree options include filet mignon, prime rib and seafood gratin.

Top of the Rock ($44/person) – Few restaurants can match the views offered by Top of the Rock at The Buttes Marriott Resort in Tempe. Beautiful scenery isn’t all that Top of the Rock provides. For Restaurant Week, Top of the Rock presents a mix of on- and off-menu items that range from traditional to uncommon.
