April 13: Pick up trash and make a flower crown

Phoenix

Contribute to environmental conservation and foster creativity with Mountain View Community Garden’s Every Day is Earth Day event. From 9 to 10 a.m., participants will pick up litter in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, then create flower crowns using garden-grown flowers and plants. The event is free, with all materials provided.

April 14: Make a self-watering planter

The Walter Hive and Refresh Glass are collaborating to host an Earth Day Celebration workshop from 2 to 3 p.m. at Walter Station Brewery to teach attendees how to create self-watering planters using upcycled glass bottles. Additionally, all participants will receive one free drink ticket from the brewery. This Earth Day event in Arizona aims to promote eco-friendly practices and support The Walter Hive, which provides educational programming that fosters creative expression and well-being through the arts.

April 14: Take a bike ride

Glendale

Glendale residents can gear up and reduce their carbon footprint with the annual Glendale Family Bike Ride at Sahuaro Ranch Park. The event, starting at 8 a.m., is free for all ages and skill levels and features three routes (7, 15 and 23 miles). Participants will leisurely explore Glendale’s bike lanes and pathways, with rest stops providing snacks and water. Helmets are mandatory, with options available at the event. Activities include bike check-up stations, health and wellness booths, music and inflatables for kids. The first 500 registrants get event T-shirts, and all finishers will receive keepsake medals. Registered riders can also enter a raffle to win a new bike.

April 19: Educate kids about protecting the planet

Kids can celebrate Earth Day from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix’s Earth Day Expo. April 20: Learn to compost

April 20: Plant a cactus or a tree

Join the City of Scottsdale for its first Earth Fest from 9 to 11 a.m. at Cactus Park. This free event celebrates Earth and Arbor Day, featuring sustainability-focused educational booths and eco-friendly initiatives. Attendees can participate in a tree- and cactus-planting ceremony commemorating Scottsdale’s 42nd year as a Tree City USA community. Those attending are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to fill up at the Scottsdale Water trailer. Free to attend.

April 22: Drink wine, sustainably

Celebrate Mother Earth at the LDV Winery Tasting Room, where guests are invited to drink wine and create an Earth Day-themed collage from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is required. While in Old Town Scottsdale, wine lovers can also visit Wine Girl and drink from one of its eco-friendly stainless-steel kegs, which save thousands of bottles of wine a year. Unlike traditional wine packaging, the kegs leave nothing to throw away, resulting in zero-waste and guilt-free consumption.

April 27: Lace up your sneakers

Celebrate Arbor Day and Earth Day during Run for Earth Phoenix at the G.R. Herberger Park. A tree will be planted on every runner’s behalf. The first wave of runners starts at 7:30 a.m. All ages and paces are welcome. All participants will receive a premium running shirt and finisher’s medal. Virtual run options are available.
