Cast Iron Concepts has unveiled exciting details about its latest venture: a cocktail and dining lounge called Bar Cena. The venue will be conveniently located next to the group’s popular restaurant, Hush Public House, in Scottsdale.
Bar Cena is set to open its doors in Fall 2023, promising to be a unique addition to the vibrant culinary scene in Scottsdale. What sets Bar Cena apart is its commitment to providing an exceptional dining and drinking experience. The name “Cena” draws inspiration from various languages, translating to “dinner” or “supper” in French, Spanish and Italian. The nod to different cultures hints at the diverse culinary influences on its seasonally rotating menu.
Owner and chef Dom Ruggiero expressed his excitement about the expansion. “We’re looking forward to expanding our reach and presenting yet another opportunity for guests to experience elevated drinking and dining in a casual and welcoming atmosphere with a neighborhood feel,” he says, in a press release. Chef Ruggiero also owns and operates Fire at Will, a successful venture in Scottsdale under the Cast Iron Concepts restaurant group, adding to the anticipation surrounding Bar Cena.
Chef de Cuisine Zack Myers is leading the team in crafting the food menu, which will feature 10 dishes that will rotate with the changing seasons. Some of the initial offerings will include pâté en croute; crispy potato pave with duck fat and rouille; mussels escabeche; and muffuletta croquettes with cured olives and fennel.
The cocktail program at Bar Cena is in the hands of Two Hands Consulting, the same company responsible for Hush Public House and Fire at Will’s craft cocktails. The cocktail menu will have seven specialty cocktails featuring espresso martinis on draft and tableside Absinthe service.
