A true see-and-be-seen dining destination, Moxies opened its doors at Scottsdale Fashion Square over the summer. The locale–the seventh US restaurant for the Canadian brand–offers an energetic and visually stunning space for sipping and savoring.
Before even settling into a cozy booth or the large island bar, guests at Moxies Scottsdale are already entranced by the beauty of the newly opened restaurant. Whimsical wallpaper, dazzling gold fixtures and a wall of greenery–with light-up block letters informing guests, “I will if you will”–equate to a fun, here-to-have-a-good-time atmosphere. The bar and lounge area display large TV’s for catching the big game while the patio is home to fire tables and heaters for cozying up on a chilly night.
The from-scratch fare and impressive cocktail list only keep the good impressions going. Beer, wine, agave cocktails, sangrias, a variety of takes on the Old Fashioned and even an array of zero-proof sips fill the drink list. The Fusion Fashioned–with Toki Japanese whisky, Knob Creek, rye, cane syrup, double bitters and orange and lemon peels–comes highly recommended (a great option for those who love a traditional Old Fashioned but want to try something fresh). Want a drink that looks as good as it tastes? Try the Empress Gin & Tonic, topped with an Empress Gin float that leaves a pretty purple hue.
Moxies Scottsdale’s food menu is quite sizable, with soups, salads, handhelds, pastas, meat and seafood dishes (we love the Scottish salmon, paired with grains and fresh veggies) and even a variety of eats for gluten-free and vegetarian diners. If you’re pre-gaming at Moxies before a night out on the town, we recommend sharing a few of the delectable and picture-perfect appetizers; the refreshing Tuna Sushi Stack is a Moxies Signature dish, and the maple-glazed brussels sprouts are sure to be a table favorite.
Moxies Scottsdale is open Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight; Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.. Happy hour is Monday to Friday, 3 to 6 p.m., and includes specially priced cocktails and shared plates. On Wednesdays, guests can enjoy half-price bottles of wine.
