Restaurant of the Week: Bobby Q

Bobby Q recently opened its second restaurant location in Mesa, bringing the best BBQ to the East Valley.

We love a good barbecue restaurant and were exciting to try out the new Bobby Q’s. With it’s welcoming southern charm, and sweet barbecue aroma, we settled in for a cozy evening.

We started with the Spinach Artichoke Queso Dip served with garlic toast. The queso artichoke was a delicious cheesy spin on a classic favorite and the garlic toast was our favorite part with the saltiness adding to the flavor experience.

For the entrees we tried the Smoked Slice Prime Beef Brisket with pecan cole slaw and grilled vegetables. We also tried the Southern Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.

Each customer receives a complimentary bag of fresh, hot cinnamon donuts at the end of their meal. You can also choose one of their desserts like their Sub-Zero Banana Cream Square, Fresh Baked Cobbler or Miss McGee’s Mud Pie.

We decided to visit the bar after our meal to sample some different cocktails and check out their social lounge. Our bar sampling included: Sinatra Smash, Duck Duck Goose, Old Fashioned, Watermelon Cooler and Piña Diablo. Each craft cocktail creation is made with the freshest ingredients and the highest quality liquor. They have a drink for everyone, or if you are feeling adventurous, their mixologists are well-versed in their craft and can make recommendations. Our favorite cocktail of the evening was the Pina Diablo, a spin of a margarita with cucumber and jalapeno. The perfect combination of a refreshing cucumber followed by the heat of a jalapeno.

We highly recommend checking out Bobby Q’s social lounge where patrons can sip craft cocktails, watch sports or just hang out and snack on some appetizers or dessert. For more information about Bobby Q, visit bobbyq.net.
