Restaurant of the Week: SaltRock

SaltRock Southwest Kitchen, serving Southwest-inspired cuisine, is the new restaurant at the stunning Amara Resort and Spa in Sedona.


As part of a $1 million renovation, Kimpton renovated and opened a new restaurant in the Amara Resort in Sedona. Lead by Executive Chef Massimo De Francesca, SaltRock marries fresh, light and seasonal approach to California cooking with culinary traditions and ingredients of the Southwest and Verde Valley.

In addition to exceptional service and stunning views, the menu offered delicious choices. Some of our favorites from the menu included:

  • Deviled Eggs, chipotle-egg yolk mousse with pasilla maple syrup.
  • Achiote Chicken, marinated organic chicken breast served over jalapeño and cilantro risotto, asparagus, garnished with piñon sauce and pomegranate seeds.
  • Grilled Corn, garlic, spicy aioli, lime, cotija
  • Chilaquiles, pork belly, smoked tomato sauce, pinto beans,queso fresco, scallion

SaltRock serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and its outdoor patio offers guests a breathtaking setting under the stars with a majestic red rock backdrop, live music Thursday through Saturday and views of the heated, sea salt infinity-edge pool and nearby fire pits. We recommend an after-dinner cocktail or glass of wine by the fire pits near the lawn – so relaxing and beautiful!
