The Montauk, a New American Restaurant and Lounge that is proving to be the latest Scottsdale hot spot, serves up tasty food and craft cocktails in a beachy, airy atmosphere.
Replacing what was formerly Bungalow restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale, The Montauk opened in January 2015, just in time for Super Bowl. The concept is bright and airy with the bar opening up to a large patio and white walls and ceilings. You feel like you should be on a beach on the east coast, hence the name.
The Montauk serves a variety of American foods and lobster is a staple item on the menu – grilled lobster wedge, lobster roll and lobster bake.
If you’re looking for something healthy, you can order the Token Kale Salad or the Avocado and Pink Grapefruit Salad.
Some of our favorites (which are not so healthy) are the Haystack Fries (with a group of four we still couldn’t finish these!), Tuna Tartar Guacamole, Mac ‘N’ Cheese and the Fish Tacos.
The Montauk also serves brunch Saturdays and Sundays, 9am to 3pm. Brunch options includes a Classic Breakfast of eggs and potatoes, crepes and breakfast sandwiches. Some of our favorite items on the brunch menu are the Sweet Corn Scramble and The Classic crepe – banana, Nutella and warm peanut butter mousse (you had me at Nutella). If you’re wanting to add some adult beverages to your brunch they have a great bloody mary, punch bowls and mimosas with the option of five different juice flavors.
Happy hour is Monday – Friday, 3pm to 6pm and include discounted appetizers, discounted glasses of wine and $3 beers (select beers).
