Restaurant of the Week: The Hot Chick

With groovy vibes, camper comfort food and a healthy dose of nostalgia, Old Town Scottsdale’s The Hot Chick is the perfect place to cut loose, unwind and enjoy yourself.

A 21-plus neighborhood hangout, The Hot Chick in Old Town Scottsdale is an entertainment and fare concept derived from Jocque Concepts, the brains behind other local favorites like The Montauk, Eat-Up Drive-In and Diego Pops.

The Hot Chick offers a chic, vintage-eclectic design reminiscent of lava lamps, peace signs and your grandparent’s living room (but in a cool way). The space features burnt warm tones, orange wood paneling and textured accents, including rusty velvets and yellow leathers.

In addition to the groovy design is an assortment of on-theme motifs, including disco balls, old-school movie posters and fun neon signs. The dining space expands outside onto a pet-friendly patio fitted with lounging areas and yard games.

During the day, The Hot Chick is a low-key hangout space perfect for kicking back with friends or catching the game on one of their 30-plus flat-screen TV’s. But come sunset, the destination kicks it up a notch and transforms into an adult playground complete with state-of-the-art sound systems, DJ’s playing your favorite throwbacks and a seemingly endless supply of fun with a lineup of retro video and board games. Some games guests can expect to indulge in include Ms. Pacman, Donkey Kong, Tetris, Mortal Kombat, Super Mario Bros, free-throw basketball, darts and much more.

To add more fuel to its fire, The Hot Chick’s fare lineup includes an assortment of comfort foods served up from a cute, on-site camper van. Fans of Eat-Up Drive-In will rejoice with some familiar favorites also offered at the destination, including Main Chick with crispy fried chicken, gouda, housemade pickles and slaw and Hot Chick with crispy “Hot Chick” Chicken, housemade pickles and slaw. Some staples unique to the Old Town spot include Disco Inferno with extra-spicy crispy chicken, chicken tacos and the recently added cheeseburger with all the fixings.

On the weekends, visitors can enjoy brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. These midday bites range from classic takes on chicken and waffles to a simple bowl of your favorite cereal.
