Turquoise Wine Cellar & Tasting Room

Turquoise Wine Cellar & Tasting Room is one of the Valley’s trusted wine reserves. Featuring more than 250 bottles in its selection, this wine bar and bottle shop has become a favorable place for both wine aficionados and novices alike in Glendale and has recently debuted a location in Peoria.

Laura Hernandez and Jen Sinconis, owners of Turquoise Wine Cellar & Tasting Room, have a mission to create and build a wine community in the West Valley. “Jen comes from Seattle,” says Hernandez. “She knows a bit more about wine in comparison to me, who is from Arizona and didn’t know much about wine before.” Hernandez attributes Sinconis’ knowledge of wine and its industry paired with her own ability to be approachable and relatable when it comes to the success of their business.

With a shop in Glendale, the two co-owners found themselves needing a bigger space for their efforts in educating and holding space for wine lovers throughout the West Valley. Now open in Peoria, Turquoise’s second wine bar and bottle shop is an expansive space that offers visitors a curated selection of wine that rotates on the menu every month, as well as a fine selection of fairly priced small-lot, boutique wines for purchase. While enjoying the Breakfast at Tiffany’s-inspired wall art, an eclectic color theme and antique-ish fitments paired with modern, velvety furniture, visitors can also enjoy a full menu created by in-house culinary experts who have perfectly crafted plates with set pairings in mind. Guests of the tasting room can enjoy charcuterie and cheese boards, bruschettas and dips, light bites, flatbreads, soups and salads, and an array of desserts.

The Peoria location will host an ongoing Wine 101 class so attendees can engage in food and sensory wine pairings alongside six different sips. Visitors can also participate in monthly wine tastings, private guided tours, sip and paint, and other events happening weekly.

The newly opened Turquoise Wine Cellar & Tasting Room will also act as a venue for intimate gatherings. The Lounge–the loft upstairs–can fit a small celebration with up to 40 people. When not being celebrated in, The Lounge acts as a co-working space for those who want to luxuriously sip on an adult beverage (or a mocktail) close at hand their laptop or a good book.

The Audrey is the below space that fits up to 40 people at a time, as well. This space is where visitors mainly congregate during business hours; however, the space can also act as an event space for smaller engagements such as rehearsal dinners, intimate ceremonies and cocktail hours. Another rental option is The Cellar, a speakeasy with old-world aesthetic features. This space can welcome up to 15 people and is available for private events only.

A monthly wine club membership is the team’s favorite and most preferred way to have the West Valley unite in their tasting room and shop. The monthly membership offers either two or four bottles per month along with 15 percent off all purchases made in the shop. Currently, more than 200 people are enjoying exclusive private events, guided tastings, educational classes and discounts from the winery’s partners and farmers as members. Regardless if you’re a first-timer, a member or a returning guest, Turquoise WIne Cellar & Tasting Room is a place for a shared experience of human connection over a glass of wine.
