The Scottsdale Resort & Spa celebrates reaching 50 percent completion on its monumental $40-million property-wide renovation. This historic transformation showcases revitalized guest rooms and introduces three new restaurants, marking a significant milestone in the resortās 50-year history.
Embracing its legacy as the countryās first conference resort, The Scottsdale Resortās revitalized guest rooms blend its historic charm with a contemporary allure. Each residential-style room features rich textures, leather accents, embroidered headboards and hand-carved wood, all complemented by modern Southwest patterns. The bathrooms have a chic desert vibe, completing the fusion of modern sophistication with its signature Southwestern charm.
A standout feature of the resortās transformation is the conversion of The Stillman Building into a dozen two-story luxury villas complete with a private pool and golf course views. These villas are a first-of-its-kind offering on the market.
āWith the propertyās storied history as our guide, weāre preserving its legacy while authoring a new chapter that brings a revived lifestyle destination to Scottsdale,ā says Alan Klein, regional director of operations for Driftwood Hospitality Management, in a press release. āAs we reach this significant milestone in our renovation, weāre excited to welcome travelers and the community to experience the property like never before.ā
Chef Ken Arneson, executive chef for Driftwood Hospitality, is leading the culinary operation at The Scottsdale Resort. The resort will introduce Barnabyās CafĆ©, an upscale cafĆ© and wine bar focused on wellness-oriented cuisine; The Madam, a Roaring Twenties-inspired speakeasy; and La Fogata, the signature restaurant featuring Sonoran fare and Southwest flavors. Chef Arneson’s commitment to local, sustainable ingredients is evident in the resort’s partnerships with Arizona-based vendors, such as Laura’s Gourmet Granola, Sonoran Pasta Co., Cutino Sauce, Noble Bread, Blue Sky Organic Farms and more. Barnabyās CafĆ© and The Madam will open in early December, followed by La Fogata in late December.
