Guide to the 2023 Arizona State Fair

With a rich history of delivering top-tier entertainment, heart-pounding rides and delectable treats, the 2023 Arizona State Fair is a true celebration of community, tradition and pure deep-fried fun for all. The annual fall event will take place from Friday, Sept. 22, to Sunday, Oct. 29, at Arizona State Fairgrounds in Phoenix. The following is your guide to the 2023 Arizona State Fair.

Arizona State Fair has been a beloved annual tradition for 139 years, bringing together communities to celebrate culture, entertainment and creativity. With its diverse attractions, world-class entertainment and mouthwatering food offerings, the fair continues to captivate the hearts of visitors of all ages.

After a post-pandemic hiatus, kicking off the fair is the return of The Coliseum Concert Series, presented by Arizona Lottery. A popular draw for many Arizonans, this season’s lineup boasts a star-studded schedule, including Walker Hayes (Oct. 13), Ne-Yo (Oct. 20), Becky G (Oct. 14), Brothers Osborne (Oct. 21), Violent Femmes (Oct. 27) and Carly Pearce (Oct. 28). (Concert tickets start at $25 and include fair admission.) Grandstand events–including monster trucks, figure-8 racing, rodeos, extreme bull riding and more–will also take place.

If you are looking for something a bit more thrilling than a live show, the fair is introducing a trio of new adrenaline-pumping rides this season, including The Slingshot, an experience that catapults you into the sky at breathtaking speeds, offering panoramic views of the Fairgrounds (if you can keep your eyes open); The Raptor, a high-speed coaster, that twists, turns and loops with exhilarating precision; and The Joker 360, a pendulum-style thrill ride, that swings, spins and twists, subjecting riders to thrilling G-forces and heart-stopping moments of weightlessness. For more traditional riders, the staple Ferris wheel is also available, showcasing the best bird’s-eye view of the fair, in addition to bumper cars, the carousel and moderate coasters. (Kiddos can join in on the Read and Ride program to earn free rides by reading a book!)
