Etta to Open in Scottsdale Quarter

The highly anticipated neighborhood spot, etta, has announced its grand debut on April 6 at Scottsdale Quarter. The new destination will be led by two-time Michelin-starred chef Danny Grant and is the second concept from What If Syndicate Hospitality, following the highly successful steakhouse, Maple & Ash.

Taking over the former home of Brio in Scottsdale Quarter, etta is a single-story space designed by Hiedi Lightner Architects. The spot boasts a gardenlike atmosphere with an outdoor patio and indoor trellis taking up 8,000 square feet of space. Art by Kevin Barry can be found on the walls, inspired by Scottsdale’s community and culture, and your furry friends are welcome to join you on the outdoor patio.

The dining spot offers a warm and vibrant atmosphere, making it the perfect destination for an intimate dinner with loved ones or a late-night celebration with friends. Etta focuses on providing a memorable evening, and even offers a unique service, the Porròn & Polaroid, to help create and cherish your time at the restaurant. The idea was inspired by Spanish traditions, where guests share a bottle of wine via a porròn and take photos of the night with a provided Polaroid camera.

“We are thrilled to be opening another restaurant in Scottsdale. This market has been incredibly supportive of us,“ says Danny Grant, partner and chef, in a press release. “Many know us for what we’ve done over at Maple & Ash the past few years. Our new etta location at Scottsdale Quarter has a similar energy and vibe, but it’s a wood-fired restaurant with more of a neighborhood feel.”

“Etta,” short for Henrietta, is the French word for “keeper of the hearth,” making it a natural match for the wood-fired lineup. The menu will feature pizza fired from the hearth, fresh focaccia, house-made pasta, fire-roasted oysters, branzino and more. The grand opening will feature some of Chef Grant’s signature dishes, including bubbling shrimp, ricotta pillows and Sunday sauce meatballs.
